So much for salary caps and collective bargaining agreements! The Red Wings are 10-1-0! So much for letting loose some of the big names they had two seasons ago. New faces like Johan Franzen (he has a chance to become really big in a few seasons!), Mikael Samuelsson (he already has 6 goals, 3 all of 2003), and Dan Cleary are proving that its not all about the money (unlike the New York Yankees - gone fishing!). Jason Williams is coming out of his shell. Brendan Shanahan is still the same old bruiser. This could be break-out years for Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. Manny Legace is playing like an All-Star. The special teams are clicking (3rd in the league in both PP and PK). And don't forget they still have Stevie Y, Nick Lidstrom, Robert Lang and Kris Draper. This is going to be a fun season to watch. GO RED WINGS!

The NHL is back. With it comes many rule changes that dictates a faster and more exciting game. There will be more goals and icing will not matter as much anymore. More penalties will be enforced ensuring more room for scorers to wreck havoc and greater responsibilities with little margin of error for the defenders. It might be an exciting and fast-paced season ahead. I've missed it for a year and I can't wait to watch it again. The fastest team sport is on!

Yey! The Yankees are in the playoffs. For all that's happened to them this season, it would be even sweeter if they won it all. Nevermind the payroll, a lot of the contributions have come from unlikely sources. Robinson Cano - he's the man! Talk about clutch rookie. Aaron Small - 10-0, 3.20 ERA in 9 starts. They should have pitched him earlier in the season. Shawn Chacon - now that he's out of Coors everyone sees he can pitch. Chien-Ming Wang, another rookie with balls of steel. Without these people, the Yankees wouldn't be complete. With regular contributions from MVP Arod, Jeter, Big Unit, Shef, Godzilla, Tino, Bernie, Jorge and the rest, a season of early failure might end in success. 1 down, 10 to go. Go Yankees!

Don't you hate it when someone's mad at you but they don't say anything. They just keep it in and wait for you to make mistakes. That's when they pounce. When they pounce, they don't care what happens to you. Someone I know is in that situation right now. Let's call him or her Person 1. A woman who's married to Person 1's relative has some beef with Person 1. What's funny is, its that woman's kid who seems to be at odds with Person 1. This kid (if you can call him that) is in college and he still goes to his mommy to help him get rid of the demons in his closet. Pointing out one's mistake is one thing but compounding things from the past is another. I mean, if you are going to accuse someone of doing something, you'd better have some proof to back it up. Things like, "its you're fault that my RV was stolen." How the hell do you defend yourself from that attack? Do you say, "Oh, I was inside the chapel getting married while your RV was being stolen so I don't think it was me who stole it," and "what would I do with your RV?" Nothing really matters once your mind is set to destroy someone's spirit. You just spit out accusation after accusation. Where are these accusations coming from?

There's more to life than accusing people for unproven crimes. It just pisses me off how people go out of their way to find fault in others. They should fix their lives first before they go and try fixing other people's. And to that whinny kid, you're in college. Grow a backbone and deal with your own problems. Don't let your mom solve them for you. Its a bit late for you to grow up but you're not out of time. Not everyone wants to see your new toys. People have better things to do than admire your new Ipod. If your mom gets you everything you want, don't expect people to envy you. You're not in highschool anymore! Grow up! Uuugh! Sorry for venting, I just feel bad for Person 1. I really hate them with a passion.

Three games

Three games separate the playoffs and fishing. Its down to a best of three and the winner gets crowned the division champ. As I type, the score is 1-1. Sox need to win all three to clinch the division and the Yanks need to win two. I want the Yankees to win! They've had it harder this season having to lose more games to the Devilrays than to the Sox. They lost half of their starting rotation to injuries. The season started with Johnson, Mussina, Pavano, Wright and Brown as their starting rotation. They gone through almost twenty different starters since opening day. Now they're down to Johnson, Mussina, Small, Chacon, and Wang, the latter three being the saviors of the season. Money can't buy you everything that's for sure. If that was true, then they would be up by ten games on the Red Sox right now. Wishful thinking, ain't it. We can't complain. They're still alive, at least for the next three games.

There is a factory in America which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arm. A new employee is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00. The next day at 8:45 there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman from the assembly line throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule. The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself so the 2 men march down the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands the new employee surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's. She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles.! The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs. The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches the woman. "I'm sorry," He says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, "but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday...... "Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles."

Why can't you defeat the Devil Rays

I don't understand why the Yankees can't beat the Devil Rays! They have the worst record in their division but the Yankees have lost 11 and won 5 against them. This is so frustrating. If they had won all of those 10 games, they would be first in their division now. That's not the case. Its pissing the hell out of me. They used to own them but not this year. Cleveland is top the wild card standing by half a game. They still have a chance but they're not helping themselves. Must-wins can't be against the Devil Rays. I just hope they do well against the Red Sox this weekend. If not, they can kiss their playoff hopes out of the window. So much for owning the American League East.

So I got into an accident yesterday. My neck still hurts from the whiplash and my chest hurts from the seatbelt. I took Tata to school and I went around the school so I could take the street up North to the freeway. This guy, in a 99 Acura CL decided that his car was faster than mine and that he could make a left against me. Everyone does that. I do it a lot too, but not when you're ten feet away from the car heading the opposite direction. On a two-way street with a middle turning lane, where was I supposed to go. I tried to stop but his car was too fast for his own good. We collided! Well actually, it was more like this - he hit my car and I could not avoid him. My airbags popped. So I got out to see if he was ok since I didn't feel like I broke anything. He said he was ok but his ear were ringing. It was probably his brain yelling at him to give the 2001 Accord right of way. It could have been the rave party music he attended the night before. He looked like he had just gotten up from his five minute post-Labor day nap. He had the nerve to scream at me and that I had hit him. If he was watching too many Initial D and Fast and the Furious DVDs, maybe he would have realized that those stunts only happen in anime and the movies. No one, outside a controlled situation, should attempt a left against traffic without ample spacing or if your car has VTOL. I'm just glad no one was hurt and that no one hit me from behind. The lessons to learn are - take a shower before you drive in the morning. Wash your face, at least. Buckle up and don't do Acid, LSD or anything illegal, period. Thank God no one was hurt or worse yet, killed. That would bug me for the rest of my life. Drive safe everyone!

The 40 Year-Old Transporter....

The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Transporter 2 were the last two movies I watched. The "virgin" was a laugh. I haven't watched something as funny since Eurotrip. The Transporter 2 was a surprise though. I brought Ta with me not expecting anything. She liked the movie. That was the surprise there. All I can say is, I'm waiting for the DVDs. They'll be part of my collection. There haven't been that many decent movies this year. Its a bummer to check the listings and not find one with decent ratings. As a Harry Potter fan, I'm waiting for the 4th movie that comes out this November. Can't wait.

Stupid Yankees!

What is up with the Yankees. Their last series against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays was not pretty. The barely won the first game. After leading in the next two games, they ended up losing. Randy Johnson pitched well despite having minimal success against this team. He had a 3-2 lead. Then he had to face Eduardo Perez. He hit two off Johnson the last time the two teams faced each other, I think. With a man on base, they should have just walked him and just tried their luck on getting the next guy out. So what happened, you ask? He serves up a homerun, cutting the lead to one. Should be safe enough. Rivera is automatic. Its understandable that he blows a save against Boston (who doesn't) or even Texas. But not against the Devil Rays! And who better to drive in the tying run but Perez. The Yankees ended up losing in 11. Wednesday was no different. After leading most of the way, they let the Devil Rays hang around. The blew the lead twice (no Rivera this time) and end up losing because of a wild pitch.

Its a bit frustrating because they were built to win. $200 million for the year. I think its the last year for Kevin Brown, good riddance! He's done nothing but get hurt. They pay him to get hurt. I'm telling you, they should have tried to keep Andy Pettite and Roger Clemens (he said he was retiring though). They should have kept Weaver. Even if he gets crushed, he still pitches. He's a spring chicken compared to Brown. And what is up with Sheffield and all his whining? If you want some chemistry, you should go get yourself a chemistry set. I know he's good but does he have to advertise? Anyway, I'm still a fan but it does get frustrating. I still hope they make it to October even as the wild card. They owe it to their fans especially after last year (I know you know but I'm not going into details. It still stings).

Sick kitty

Yesterday, while we were outside playing badminton with the family, I heard a distant 'meow.' Naturally, being a cat-person, I meowed back. It did the same. Searching for where the cry came from, I noticed a black kitten a few yards away. I went and inspected it. It was so tiny and it was so sick. I felt bad for it. One of its eyes was covered in so much pus that I wasn't sure it could see from it. I didn't know if it was a stray or it was one of the neighbors.' It was hungry though. We got some food for it but it barely touched it. All it wanted to do was follow me around. I have two cats at home and I wasn't about to risk getting them sick too. We were about to call the animal shelter when a group of teenagers came strolling along. I wasn't sure if they were teenagers because you can't really tell here in the U.S. White people look mature for their age. Anyway, they saw the kitten and started playing with it. I guess its attention shifted from me to them. One girl wasn't about to get close to the kitten but her friends thought it was really cute. The kitten decided to follow them instead. They said they were keeping it. I felt sad to see it leave but at the same time relieved. At least for a few minutes we were able to give it some attention and care. Hope its feeling better.

My Baby!

My baby is at home, all alone. I miss her a lot. The fact that I've never gotten so much attention makes it even better. I mean, who can beat coming home to someone you love the most. Work becomes tolerable because you know that at the end of the day, you'll get the same great love and attention you get everyday. Its hard to leave in the morning. While she hugs me tight, while she twists herself around me. Can't get enough of that. Hopefully she's not too bored. Sometimes I try to think what it would be like without her. I can't imagine what it would be like. She's always part of the big picture. She's always a part of my dreams, hopes, plans and my future. We have names for our future kids. The time that we get to write their names on the birth certificate form, that would be one awesome day. Until then, I'll try to keep my baby happy. I'm forever yours baby! I love you with all of me!
